Every team is its own, unique system. It has a past, present and future, strengths, weaknesses, habits and moods. It has a set of values, a personality and certain attitudes. It even has its own set of unwritten rules.

These rules dictate:

  • How conflict and challenges are handled;

  • How the team perceives customers, competitors, leadership and others within the organization;

  • How the team communicates within and outside the team;

  • How team leaders manage resources and make decisions.

There can even be ground rules for who you can and can’t talk to. These rules aren’t written down anywhere, but they are understood within the team, contribute to team culture and hold powerful influence over performance.

In this talk, I will guide you to take a deep dive into the core issues holding you back so that you can solve them at their root and build cultures of trust that empower creativity, ingenuity and progress.

External challenges should be where most of your team resources go – connecting with customers, capitalizing on market trends, staying ahead of the competition, creative problem solving, etc. Your team cannot do that well if the bulk of their energy is focused on internal challenges – distrust, ineffective meetings, miscommunication, lack of engagement, lack of motivation, etc. 

Instead, focus your resources on the internal for the short term. Give it a big push. Really dig in and get gritty. Fix things at their core and transform your team culture into one that supports, encourages and inspires. Then you actually have the bandwidth and the high performing team to focus on the external.

Every team is a dynamic, living system with its own characteristics, personality, strengths, weaknesses, spoken and unspoken rules, and even moods!

The Team Diagnostic assessment takes a deep dive into your team “system”, focusing on two key areas: productivity factors (leadership, alignment, goals, etc) and positivity factors (trust, communication, constructive interaction, etc).
The result is a clear picture of what drives your team, what areas need work and what you need to do to bring your team up to the next level.

After this deep dive into your team system, the real work begins as we work together to solve issues at their core and transform your teams by strengthening the people within them. We provide team members and leaders with tools and strategies to connect with their inner leaders, bring their unique strengths forward with courage and confidence, turn away from self-preservative behaviours and towards creative problem solving, and collectively develop a culture of trust, collaboration, accountability and respect.
