The Critical Question to Ask Before You Say No
Tell me, when you say no to something… do you ever ask yourself why you’re saying no?
I strongly believe that in order to move forward in life, you need to say “yes” to what you truly want. You also need to say “no” to the things you don’t want.
When you do choose to say no to something, it has to be for the right reasons.
I was recently asked to do a presentation at a spa… in French. French is not my first language and I do not feel as confident, or that I come across as naturally, as I do when I speak English.
I was going to say no, but decided to first ask myself why I was saying no. And most importantly, to be totally honest with myself in my answer.
My honest answer was, “I don’t feel I am good enough in French. I haven’t done a French presentation since high school.”
There it was. I was afraid and I was letting fear decide for me!
I told myself, “I am the CEO of my life. I am the captain of my ship. I will not allow my fears to make decisions for me. I will make my decisions from my future self and from where I want to be.”
Where do I want to be? Helping as many people as possible create orgasmically joyful lives and businesses. Would this event help me inspire more people and reach a whole new untapped market? Definitely.
I told myself I had to do it. I had to get out of my comfort zone and face my fears.
I chose to say “yes”.
The spa will be promoting my presentation to 23,000 people. Attendees will be doing yoga and meditation sessions before I speak, so they will be even more receptive to my message. How could it get any better than that?! This is an amazing opportunity to do what I love in an environment I love and I almost let fear take it away from me.
Would love to see you at the event!
Wishing you an orgasmically joyful life & business!
